The PNB Employees Savings & Loan Association, Inc (PESLAI) began its operations on May 17, 1954. It started with 30 members only and an initial capital outlay of ₱10,000 as seed money. Presently, the Association has more than 5,000 members with total assets of more than ₱400M. Since 1995, PESLAI has been winning awards in an annual Confederation of Non-Stock Savings & Loan Associations Inc. (CONSLA) now the Alliance of Non-Stock Savings & Loan, Inc. (ANSLI). Most of these excellence awards were in the categories of lending, operation efficiency, profitability & stability, and asset utilization. Likewise, the Association gathered merit awards in some of its corporate social responsibility projects such as the 2007 Gawad Award in Adopt a Barangay Project and 2014 when it granted a 6-month loan moratorium and financial assistance of ₱4,000 each to 117 member-borrowers severely affected by the super typhoon “Yolanda”. With continuous good governance, the Association was again recently awarded the 2020 Savings & Loan Association of the Year by the Alliance of Non-stock Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (ANSLI). The PESLAI also receives excellence awards for the following categories in Group B: 1. Lending Operations – Winner 2. Operational Efficiency – Winner 3. Profitability and Stability – 1st Runner-up 4. Asset Utilization – 2nd Runner Up (Group B category with assets ₱500 million and below).
